1. Data Controller vs. Data Processor Roles
Our platform serves both consumers and business merchants. For Merchant Users (B2B): When a merchant uses our Windows Software to generate and send receipts to their customers, the merchant is the "Data Controller." Handy Receipts acts solely as a "Data Processor," processing the transaction data and customer phone numbers strictly on the merchant's behalf to deliver the digital receipt. For Consumer Users (B2C): When you download our mobile App or use our web platform to manage your receipts, we act as the Data Controller of your account information.
2. Information We Collect
A. From Consumer Users (The App)
- Contact Details: Your name, mobile number, and email address.
- Receipt Data: Receipts you receive, view, share, or organize within the App.
- Preferences: Language preferences and location data (if permitted) to display local offers.
B. From Merchant Users (The Software)
- Business Details: Business name, contact person, email, billing address, and industry.
- Point of Sale (POS) Data: Billing data (items, prices, taxes) captured by our Windows App to generate the interactive digital receipt.
C. Automatically Collected Information
- Device & Usage Data: Operating system, app activity, crash reports, and IP addresses.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver interactive receipts via WhatsApp, SMS, Email, or QR code on behalf of our merchants.
- To provide consumers with a centralized vault for their purchase history.
- To show targeted promotions from verified third-party sellers within the App.
- To process merchant subscription payments and provide B2B technical support.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent personal data.
- With Service Providers: We use secure third-party vendors for cloud hosting (AWS/GCP), messaging APIs (e.g., WhatsApp Business API), and analytics.
- With Third-Party Sellers: We share non-personally identifiable, aggregated insights to help merchants tailor offers. We do not share your direct contact info.
- For Legal Compliance: If required by law, regulation, or legal process in India.
5. Cookies and Analytics Tracking
Our Website uses cookies and tracking technologies to analyze site traffic. - Device Permissions: You can revoke location and notification permissions from your phone settings at any time.
7. Security & Retention
We employ 256-bit encryption and secure cloud infrastructure to protect transaction data. We retain data as long as the account is active. Merchant POS data is retained per the merchant's subscription terms and applicable financial laws.

Our services are not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
